It was in 1996 that Dogge wrote Shuno.
Shuno looked his best dressed in Polo.
Would do anything for euros, would do anything for kronor.
People like him fly solo.
There were many people like him on my schoolyard.
Bought their beepers at Doro.
Would do anything for euros.

Everybody had posters of Tony.
And everybody had names like "Tony."
Like "Sonny," "Ronny," and "Donny."
Bought MiniDisc at Sony.
And on the radio, Mauro Scocco was spinning,
And on tv, Pau-Pau-Paulo Roberto.
But at the school desk, the feeling was claustrophobic.
Shuno did graffiti and threw his rubber.
That was before Örnsberg had a supermarket.
That's where I hung out with Billy, and his brothers Johnny and Timmy.
Drank at Diset and we ate at Kenny's.
And on our feet we had penny loafers. (Not sure about this one.)
Always basketball shoes, or tennis. No Prada, no one had Perry's (?).
That was before The Sopranos had won any Emmys,
And a day of the week felt never-ending.
But there was a whole different tempo on the weekends.
Game during the day and disco in the evening,
With songs that dj's still select...
With songs that dj's still select...
With songs that dj's still select...

Hey Shuno, I know, you have problems.
With time, it will become brighter, you shall see.
Hey Shuno, you paid off your loans,
And I want you to know, that I'm still playing your song.

All the girls were Barbie and Cindy, had clothes with Mickey and Minnie.
So I hung out with Kevin and Kimmy, and his brothers Jeffrey and Jimmy.
Shuno hung out with Richard and Roger, in Berzeli Park or the King's Garden,
During the large part of that summer vacation, but it was still cold when they were waiting for the train.
It had been cold that whole year, it was even worse now, since he had shaved his head.
New hairdo, new jacket, new Walkman. Richard had gone home, Roger was strung out.
And in the headphones Sisqo was playing, only songs that topped the charts.
Shuno had been banned from the disco, and the knife in his pocket was as sharp as an ice skate.

Hey Shuno, I know, you have problems.
With time, it will become brighter, you shall see.
Hey Shuno, you paid off your loans,
And I want you to know, that I'm still playing your song.
